FAQ: What is Inheritance Tax?

Posted on: 2 January 2018 by Goodwins Family Law Solicitors

Inheritance Tax is not something you hear about on a day to day basis, but in the cases where it applies, it is important that those involved are aware of the tax implications that can come into play. The tax is applied to people who are passing on property or anything of monetary value over the value of £325,000 to their descendants following death. Currently, it is estimated that 40,100 families pay Inheritance Tax – that’s approximately 8% of estates in the country.

Needing some advice on inheritance tax? You can get in touch with Goodwins Family Law today to book an initial fixed fee consultation for a confidential discussion and we’ll be happy to help. We are located in Harrow, London, with on site car parking and accessible from public transport links. Alternatively, if you are overseas we possess the capabilities to arrange a Skype call with you if it is more convenient.
