FAQ: How quickly can a solicitor obtain legal protection for me from domestic abuse?

Posted on: 2 January 2018 by Goodwins Family Law Solicitors

In certain domestic abuse cases, an emergency order can be applied for which means that the applicant does not have to allow for the usual notice period for the respondent’s reply. These are also known as ex parte or without notice orders and they are often applied where it is deemed there is a ‘risk of significant harm’ to the applicant or child.

Needing some expert advice on domestic abuse? You can get in touch with Goodwins Family Law today to book an initial fixed fee consultation for a confidential discussion and we’ll be happy to help. We are located in Harrow, London, with on site car parking and accessible from public transport links. Alternatively, if you are overseas we possess the capabilities to arrange a Skype call with you if it is more convenient.
