The wellbeing of children are treated with the utmost importance during divorce proceedings. When child maintenance payments are arranged, the parent paying them has a legal responsibility to fulfil this important financial obligation.
In terms of tax, child maintenance payments are not eligible for tax relief in the UK. However, if you receive maintenance payments, they are not counted as taxable income.
