Like most firms of solicitors dealing with Court procedures, Goodwins Family Law's fees are based on how much time we spend on a case as well as the seniority of the person responsible for your case. There are two exceptions to this rule:
Given our degree of specialisation and experience we consider our hourly fees very competitive, especially compared to our competitors in central London.
You are provided on the fixed fee meeting with one of our client care letters, in effect our terms and conditions, which set out how much we charge, hourly rates and details of our fixed fee divorce. When you formally instruct us we will then write to you with a costs estimate tailored to the individual circumstances of your case. Then as your case progresses we provide you with regular costs information to keep you informed as to the level of costs you are incurring and are likely to incur in the future.
When we bill you for our work you will receive a narrative describing the work done as well as a detailed breakdown setting out how every penny of your solicitors' fees has been calculated.
We do not undertake publicly funded (Legal Aid) work.
We understand that some people may wish to conduct their proceedings on their own but might require our advice and assistance as and when required. This is a service we are able to offer.
In certain circumstances it may be possible to obtain an order from the Court that orders the other party to be responsible for all or part of your costs. If this applies to your case we will explore this in full with you.
